8 Steps You Should Take To Eat & Be Healthier Right Now

Real Food is the way to eat healthy. To eat real food you need to be cooking. Follow my recipes below for inspiration. 

1. Shop Local Farms.

Buy your vegetables and fruit from the local farmer’s market. You want to avoid genetically modified food and foods that have been massed produced that contain harmful chemicals. Its one of my favorite things or even better start your own garden.

Try a Blueberry and Greek Yogurt Smoothie 

2. Buy Only Organic Dairy.

This will cut out the hormones and antibiotics you are ingesting daily that you do not need and that are wreaking havoc with your system.

3. Eat Real Greek Yogurt.

Eat yogurt and fermented foods including sauerkraut and pickles daily. This does not mean any old yogurt; we are talking about real Greek yogurt and Straus family yogurt which contains active cultures that aid in digestion and absorption of nutrients you eat. Stay away from yogurt that has a lot of added sugar. Look out for high carbs and high sugar. 

4. Minimize Processed Foods. 

Minimize or even stop eating food that comes from packages, or cans. This is processed food that contains a lot of sodium and other chemicals to promote shelf life and it is not really real food. This includes the so-called diet foods. They are loaded with sugar and harmful additives.

Basically, eat more vegetables. 

5. Find the Right Protein. 

Eat the right amount of animal protein that is locally raised and pastured if possible., This includes organically raised non caged fir free range chickens, grass fed beef and line caught fish preferably from Alaska or the Pacific. You want side salmon as farm raised is also full of harmful ingredients that the poor fish have been fed.

6. Less flour, rice and pasta. 

Try to stay away from flour, rice and pasta. Substitute vegetables instead. The only grain I recommend is quinoa. Look at the back of the package and become an educated consumer.

7. Eat Healthy Fats. 

Don’t be afraid of fat. Good fat such as avocado and nuts are satisfying and very good for you.

8. Your Health Depends on What You Eat. 

You are what you eat and your life and health depend on it. This is the best motivation to change the way you eat. Many health problems will disappear and you will look better as well. You will lose weight and keep it off if you eat real food. It’s that simple. Oh and don’t forget to drink lots of water. What I said applies to drinks too. Any diet sodas are loaded with harmful chemicals and very addictive.
